Renaissance UNVEILED
Fall 2024
In October, Cold Spring Dance showcased the Ballet, Renaissance UNVEILED. This piece contained diverse movement set to Renaissance music, incorporating narration and comedic choreography. Renaissance UNVEILED was showcased to local not-for-profit executives and dance professionals, and was received with great enthusiasm.
The dancers were from the Martha Graham Company, the Metropolitan Opera and included freelance professionals from New York City. We thank these talented artists for bringing Renaissance UNVEILED to life. Our dancers were So Young An, Devin Loh, Sarah Mack, Kara Walsh, Jai Perez, Justin Rainey, Myles Tracy, and Richard Villaverde.
We have begun rehearsals for 2025. We are looking forward to an exciting year. We plan to premier a movement from our Greek Ballet and are in discussions to perform in larger venues. We will also present a lecture on the evolution of dance and its power to connect us to who we are at our core. Details and dates will be available soon.
This September, Cold Spring Dance hosted Community Art Day. Vocalist, Maria Eleni Zollo, performed and led a dynamic workshop for voice and theater. Maria Eleni had everyone on their feet, participating in the fun. Our dancers, Weston Krukow, Kara Walsh, Mark Willis and Aneriz Re, performed a piece choreographed by Cally, set to the music of Arvo Part. The dancers also led a dance workshop for those in attendance. They taught the audience the building blocks of choreography, demonstrate process of developing a movement phrase, one step at a time.
